The Problem of Pain by CS Lewis offers wisdom and understanding on the subjects of pain and suffering. He explains how both moral and human evil, and the pain caused results from misusing the freedom that we have, and yet the pain caused by evil can be solved through this same freedom when we do right by it. Lewis reminds us that to love at all is to be vulnerable. Pain will always be a part of loving, and since God is love, God will ultimately use the pain to help us understand and grow in the love that He has for us and to share that love.
